Preparation for Epoxy Coating
Epoxy coatings are known for their resilience and ability to protect surfaces from harsh conditions, making them ideal for high-traffic and industrial environments. However, to achieve a flawless epoxy finish, thorough surface preparation is required. Our team begins by cleaning the surface to eliminate any contaminants, such as oils, grease, or dirt, that could compromise the epoxy’s ability to bond with the substrate. We use specialized industrial-grade cleaners to remove stubborn residues that regular cleaners may miss. Once cleaned, we inspect the surface for any imperfections, such as cracks, holes, or surface irregularities, and repair these to ensure a smooth, level base. Depending on the surface condition, we may use specialized grinding equipment to prepare the floor further, ensuring it is scuffed to allow the epoxy to penetrate and bond effectively. After grinding and smoothing the surface, we apply a bonding primer to enhance adhesion, creating a perfect base for the epoxy coating. Once the primer has cured, we carefully apply the epoxy coating, ensuring an even, smooth finish that will provide superior protection against wear and tear. The surface is allowed to cure completely before it is subjected to use, ensuring that the epoxy forms a strong, durable bond that will last for years.
